game 11-4 and completed the sweep with a 7-3 triumph in game two. Senior

Mike Trainor (Patterson, N.Y.) worked a seven inning complete game in game two.
The Dolphins wasted little time getting on the board in the opener, as they plated a pair of runs in the first frame. After James Labartino (Holbrook, N.Y.) reached on an infield single and stole second, senior Mike Ruckdaschel (East Meadow, N.Y.) drove him home with a one out triple. Ruckdaschel was later driven in with an infield single from Joe Blackford (Stewartsville, N.J.) to give the Mount the early lead.
The Dolphins held the two run advantage until the top of the fifth inning when the Panthers knotted the score at 2-2. The Panthers initial run came on a one out solo home run from Jack Lappin to slice the lead in half. Purchase would record three more base hits in the frame, with Adam Hoyle tying the game with a two out run scoring single.
After scoring just three runs in the first five innings of the game, the Dolphins then exploded for eight runs in their final three at bats. After scoring a single runs in the fifth and sixth inning to move in front 4-3, the Dolphins plated five in the seventh inning to break the game open. The Mount pounded out five hits with Mike Pope (Massapequa, N.Y.) and Josh Cuozzo (Westbury, N.Y.) each collected two-run base hits.
The Dolphins would plate two more runs in the eighth inning to put the game away. Ruckdaschel and John McManus (Bayside, N.Y.) drove in the runs for the Dolphins. Purchase closed out the scoring in the game with a run in the ninth.
Labartino finished the game 3-5 with a double, three runs score and an RBI and Blackford finished 2-3 with a double, a pair of runs scored and two driven in. Cuozzo drove in three runs for the Mount in the winning effort.
Kirsh worked his second straight complete game for the Dolphins and improved to 1-2 on the season. He fired 9.0 innings and allowed four runs, only three earned, on eight hits. He walked just two in the game and fanned five Purchase batters.
In the second game of the set the Mount found itself behind 2-0 before scoring five runs in the bottom of the third inning. Purchase plated single runs in the second and third frames to open the lead, before the Mount strung together seven of its 10 hits in the third.
The inning started with a T.J. Laible (Rockaway, N.Y.) double to left center which started a string of three straight hits. After Brendan Russo (Westbury, N.Y.) moved Laible to third with a bunt base hit, Labartino pushed him across with an infield single to short. Ruckdaschel drove in two runs with a single to right and McManus and Fernando Suriel (Yonkers, N.Y.) each picked up run scoring hits in the inning.
Purcahse closed the gap with one more run in the fourth, but Mount Saint Vincent tacked on insurance runs in the fifth and sixth to secure the sweep.
McMauns finished the second game 2-3 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI and Suriel also collected a pair of knocks and two runs driven in.
Trainor improved to 3-1 on the season after firing 7.0 strong innings. He allowed three runs, two earned, on eight base hits. He walked just one batter in the game and struck out four.
The sweep moves the Mount back over the .500 mark to 8-7 overall and to 4-2 in Skyline Conference play. The Dolphins will be back in action again on Tuesday when they host Lehman. First pitch at Columbia University is set for 3:30 p.m.
