game one in 10 innings by a 2-1 score, before topping Mount Saint Mary 9-7 in game two.
James Labartino (Holbrook, NY) drove in the game winning run in the opener, while senior
Tanner Munroe (Milford, CT) drove out a three-run home run in game two to send Mount Saint Vincent to the sweep.
In game one, Mount Saint Mary got out to a 1-0 lead which stood until the home half of the ninth inning. In the Mount's final at-bat, Joe Blackford (Stewartsville, NJ) reached on a single before senior Al Schor (Norwalk, CT) tied the game with a double. In the tenth Labartino, who pinch ran for Schor in the ninth, drove home Blackford in the 10th to give the Dolphins to come-from-behind victory.
Blackford went 4-5 with two runs scored in the opener, while Zach Munroe (Milford, CT) collected a pair of hits.
Jon O'Leary (Bohemia, NY) got the start and worked the first 6.0 innings and allowed one earned run on six hits. He walked three and struck out a pair. Anthony Palandro (Westbury, NY) got the win in relief and worked 4.0 innings. He did not allow on run on four hits and struck out a pair.
In game two, the Dolphins fell behind 3-0 and then 4-1 before Tanner Munroe brought the Mount back with a three-run blast to left in the fourth inning. Munroe went 2-4 in the game with a run and five RBI. His brother Zach went 3-3 with a pair of runs and three RBI in the contest. Eddie Park (East Meadow, NY) chipped in with a pair of hits and a run scored.
Mike Trainor (Patterson, NY) picked up the win in relief after working 2.0 innings. He did not allow a run or a hit and struck out one. Ryan Strub (Bohemia, NY) got the start and work the first four frames, giving up four runs on four hits. He fanned a pair in the outing.
In between the two games, Mount Saint Vincent honored the 11 seniors on this year's team. This season's senior class is the first four year graduating class in program history.
The sweep moves the Mount to 19-13 overall on the season. The Dolphins will be back in action on Monday afternoon when they host Ramapo. First pitch at Columbia University's Baker Field complex is set for 3:30 p.m.
