John McManus (Queens, N.Y.) hit his eighth career home run which matched the career record at the Mount in a 12-6 game two victory. In addition freshman Kevin Coogan (Bronx, N.Y.) hit for the program's first cycle in game one.

After the Dolphins fell behind 3-0 in the top of the first, they responded with four of their own in the home half of the frame and then went on to outscore NYU-POLY 17-2 the rest of the way. Mike Ruckdaschel (East Meadow, N.Y.), McManus and Mike Pope (Massapequa, N.Y.) all drove in runs for the Mount in the first.

After adding three runs in the third, the Mount blew the game open with seven runs in the fourth and five more in the fifth. The Dolphins pounded out 12 hits over those two innings and took advantage of five NYU-POLY errors to open the comfortable lead.

The Dolphins worked out 28 hits in the game with six players recording multiple hits. Christian Lavery (Westbury, N.Y.) and Blackford each recorded four hits in the game, with Lavery scoring three and Blackford driving in four. Coogan hit for the cycle, collecting a double, triple, home run and single and drove in four on the day.

Blackford entered the game three hits short of Tanner Munroe's career record of 144 hits. He recorded the hit on a single over the shortstop's head. Blackford will graduate as the career record holder in nearly every offensive category.

Anthony Mongelli (Flushing, N.Y.) earned the win after working 6.0 innings. He allowed four earned runs on seven hits in the outing. He fanned eight Blue Jays and walked three. Senior John Olsen (Seaford, N.Y.) earned his first career save after working 3.0 scoreless innings. He allowed three hits and struck out two.

NYU-POLY again jumped out in front early in game two, scoring two runs in the top of the first inning. The Dolphins again responded with four runs in the bottom of the inning with Coogan driving in a pair with a single.

After being held scoreless in the second inning the Dolphins scored three in the third, two in the fourth and fifth and a single run in the sixth. The run in the sixth was driven in on a leadoff home run from McManus to left field. He is now the single season record holder in round trippers and has tied Al Schor for the career mark with eight.

Ruckdaschel finished the game 3-for-4 with two runs scored and three RBI in game two, with Coogan picking up two more hits and two more RBI. McManus scored three runs and picked up two hits as well in the nightcap.

Mike McManus (Queens, N.Y.) picked up the win for the Dolphins after allowing five earned runs, six overall, in 5.0 innings. Rich Dionisio (West Islip, N.Y.) and Blackford came on to work two scoreless innings in relief.

The sweep brings Mount Saint Vincent to within a game of .500 at 15-16 overall and improves it to 8-4 in league play. The Dolphins will play a makeup of Saturday's rainout with Farmingdale St. on Monday at Farmingdale. First pitch with the Rams is set for 3:30 p.m.
