Mike Pope (Massapequa, N.Y.) each picked up a pair of hits and combined for four of the Mount's five on the day.
The Cougars opened the game up in their first at bat with seven runs against Mount Saint Vincent starter Phil Mangerino (Mahopac, N.Y.). Stephen Nappe had the big blow in the frame with a two run ground rule double.
Kean would finish the game with 19 hits and would have six players with multiple hits. Ken Gregory led the offensive attack by going 4-for-5 with a run scored. Mike Morceri contributed three hits and drove in four runs.
Mount Saint Vincent would only manage five singles against Kean starter Greg Baruka. Joe Blackford (Stewartsville, N.J.) collected the other hit for the Dolphins and is now just two safeties shy of tying the career mark at the Mount in the category.
Baruka finished the day with the win after working 6.0 strong innings. He allowed four hits in the outing and fanned five Dolphins. Mangerino took the loss for the Mount after allowing eight earned runs, 11 overall, in 4.2 innings. He did collect a pair of strikeouts.
The loss drops Mount Saint Vincent to 13-16 overall on the season. The Dolphins will return to league action on Saturday when they host Farmingdale St. The twinbill is set to begin at 12:00 p.m.
