Michael McClendon

Mike McClendon is entering his third season as the Head Men’s JV basketball coach and Head
Assistant for the Varsity team.

McClendon, who assists in all efforts of the program, will be serving as the primary Academic
Coordinator for both the Varsity and JV teams. His responsibilities will include: academic
advisement, organizing study halls, tracking every players' academic progress, scheduling
tutors when necessary and monitoring every players' class attendance, to name a few.

For the 2018-2019 season, the JV team’s first year in the American Independent Post-Grad &
Collegiate Conference (AIPCC) that McClendon is responsible for putting them in, McClendon’s
Dolphins went 10-7 overall, 7-3 in the conference for a fourth place finish and had one player
named First Team All-AIPCC.

Along with his team’s success, McClendon has been able to develop his players to the varsity
level and has seen a total of four players move up in just his first two seasons.
McClendon also brings with him a wide range of coaching experience from the grassroots level
of AAU to coaching at the Division II level. McClendon served as the Assistant Coach at Felician
College where he was in charge of player development for the 2013-2014 and 2014-2015
seasons.

Prior to Felician, McClendon served as the Assistant Coach at Raritan Valley Community
College for two years and was the Head JV basketball coach for St. Paul’s Prep in Baltimore,
Maryland for three years. Since 2008, McClendon is also the co-director of the AAU program, Pure Basketball, based out of Green Brook Township, New Jersey.

McClendon, a New Jersey native, continues to reside in New Jersey with his wife, Jessica, and their three children: Ari, Layla, and Benny.
