Purchase, NY — The University of Mount Saint Vincent scored twice in the opening half and held Manhattanville scoreless the rest of the way to secure a 2-0 Skyline Conference victory on Tuesday afternoon.
Sophomore Michelle Zuniga opened the scoring in the 22nd minute, putting the Dolphins ahead 1-0 with her fourth goal of 2026. Reigning Skyline Rookie of the Year Ariana Hernandez doubled the advantage just before halftime, finding the back of the net in the 38th minute to give UMSV a two-goal cushion at the break.
The Dolphins controlled play throughout the contest, finishing with a 19-7 advantage in shots and an 8-3 edge in corner kicks. The veteran Dolphins defense held it down in its own zone, with goalkeeper Kaitlyn Grady and defenders Madeleine Halford, Marlene Segarra and Gisselle Soria keeping the Valiants offense at bay.
Grady finished with five saves to record the shutout. Manhattanville managed just one shot in the second half as the Dolphins protected their lead from start to finish.
UMSV improves to 4-3-1 overall and 3-0-1 in Skyline Conference play and will attempt to keep their conference unbeaten streak in tact on Saturday against Mount Saint Mary College.
