Keenan Doyle Tabbed As Golf Coach

Riverdale, NY – The University of Mount Saint Vincent has announced the hiring of Keenan Doyle as the new head coach of the Dolphins golf program on Wednesday. He is set to take over the role effective immediately.

"I'm extremely grateful to the Director for Athletics, Christine Friel, and the entire athletic department for entrusting me with the opportunity to build something special within the golf program," Doyle told UMSVAthletics.com. "I truly believe I can make a meaningful impact on the team and the players, and I look forward to working closely with our student athletes to help them grow both on and off the course."

"I believe golf is one of the best sports for teaching valuable life lessons," Doyle continued. The game challenges you in unexpected ways, requires you to overcome adversity and constantly tests your character. I'm excited to help our student athletes grow as people just as much as golfers during their time at UMSV, with lessons and habits that they will carry with them long after their time on campus."

"We are excited to welcome Keenan to Riverdale as our new head men's golf coach. His familiarity with the Westchester area and the Skyline Conference, combined with his passion and enthusiasm for golf and coaching, make him an outstanding fit for our department," stated Christine Friel, Director for Athletics and Recreation. "I look forward to watching him build our program and provide a great experience for our student-athletes."

Doyle, a first-time head coach at the collegiate level, joins UMSV with a strong background in player development and operations management in the local area. The Westchester County native currently holds two roles in the golf world: one as a coach with TGA Premier Sports in Scarsdale, and the other as an operations leader at Golf Lounge 18 in White Plains.

At TGA Premier Sports, Doyle conducts instructional sessions for junior golfers, with an emphasis on fundamentals and skill development. His coaching approach focuses on effective communication, individualized instruction, and helping athletes build confidence both on and off the course. He also utilizes golf biomechanics and strength and conditioning strategies to enhance performance.

In his role at Golf Lounge 18, Doyle oversees daily golf operations with a focus on safety protocols and inspections of the facility. He previously worked as an associate with the company, where he performed duties ranging from guiding customers in the utilization of the TrackMan simulator technology, organizing tournaments, coordinating events, and managing memberships, all the while creating positive experiences for golfers of various backgrounds and ability levels.

Doyle is also familiar with the Skyline Conference. He played collegiately at rival Purchase College before gaining his first experience at coaching as an assistant with the Panthers. He collaborated with coaches to plan practices and develop athletes' technical skills while fostering a supportive team environment.

Doyle earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Visual Arts from SUNY Purchase in 2024.

The Dolphins are looking for a resurgence both in conference play and regionally, and Doyle is up or the challenge.

"I plan to uphold a strong sense of community within the team. I believe a successful team begins with a sense of closeness and trust. On top of that foundation, I plan to help our team improve the controllables within the game of golf. Through stat tracking, structured routines, and analytics, I aim to give our student athletes a clearer understanding of their performance and how to continue improving. My goal is to help them develop greater awareness of their game and translate that knowledge into growth and better decision making on the course."
