Dolphins Win Streak Snapped By Maritime

Throggs Neck, NY - The University of Mount Saint Vincent faced a tough test against Maritime, falling 22-11 in a high-scoring contest. The end result dropped UMSV to 6-8 overall and 3-2 in Skyline play.

The Dolphins struck first with an early goal from Alfred Lamptey after winning the first faceoff the contest. Maritime, however, quickly took control, stringing together a dominant first half. A relentless offensive surge gave the Privateers a commanding 14-2 lead by halftime, putting UMSV in a tough hole.

Despite the deficit, the Dolphins showed resilience after the break. Chai Dunlap helped lead the charge with multiple goals, including a pair on man-up opportunities, while Mattias Remes and Nigel Walker added key scores to spark the offense. Thomas Vallely contributed both as a scorer and facilitator, and late goals from Jason Cardona and Sam Hall highlighted a much-improved fourth quarter.

Dunlap also impressed on the defensive end with a team best four caused turnovers while Lamptey secured nine ground balls. The Dolphins went 27-for-37 in faceoffs with Lamptey, Cal Denier and Nathanial Simpson winning a majority of their attempts.

UMSV outscored Maritime 9-8 in the second half, showing fight and offensive rhythm down the stretch despite the early gap. They'll look to carry that momentum in their regular season home finale against USMMA on Wednesday.
