Mahwah, NJ - The University of Mount Saint Vincent continued their most recent stretch of games, this time taking a break from Skyline play to challenge Ramapo College. The Dolphins led early, but it was the Roadrunners who ended the game on top, winning by the score of 13-3.
The result put UMSV at 3-11 this season.
The Dolphins took advantage on the basepaths, putting the team ahead early. After loading the basis, senior
Tyler Margolis worked a walk to plate
Kyle Brindisi.
Zach Turko did the same just one batter later, collecting an RBI when
Evan Dutzer crossed the plate.
UMSV then displaeyd their speed, with a triple steal resulting in the third run of the inning, as Turko stole second, Margolis stole third and
Andrew Farina scoring.
From there, however, it was all Ramapo, as they'd score 13 runs to close out the contest.
Brindisi, Dutzer,
Pablo Austin,
Will Granata and
Stephen Marinez accounted for each of the team's five hits. Turko reached base twice via walks.
Jacob Wenzel impressed in his relief appearance. The sophomore pitched in 3.1 innings and allowed just two hits while striking out four.
The Dolphins turn right back around and head to New Jersey for a showdown against New Jersey City University.
