New York, NY - The University of Mount Saint Vincent earned a four set victory over Yeshiva University, defeating the Maccabees 23-25, 25-19, 25-20, 25-14 with a balanced offensive performance and strong serving throughout the match.
Raeden Nieves led the offensive effort with a team-high kill total (16), while Jose Dominguez provided additional firepower to help Mount Saint Vincent build momentum with 14 kills of his own. Yestro Luciano Jr. and Tyler Hanna rounded out the top three with seven strikes each, with the middles making their presence felt at the middle of the net.
UMSV continued to apply pressure in the final sets, with Christian Ferrer directing the offense and distributing effectively, registering 43 assists. The Dolphins capitalized on strong service runs, with the Dolphins combining for 22 aces. Dominguez led the charge with seven, and Ferrer added five.
Ferrer was all over the court, adding 10 digs, joining classmate Roel Lucero who had the same total. Luciano Jr. and Dominguez recorded a block each, helping control the net.
The 3-8 Dolphins will look to continue to stack conference wins with playoffs on the horizon. The team is set to challenge Old Westbury on Wednesday, a team sitting directly in front of them in the standings.
