Purchase, NY - The University of Mount Saint Vincent embarked on a two game swing out in Purchase over the last 48 hours, first against Manhattanville University and then against Purchase College. The Dolphins ended up falling in both contests, dropping game one in straight sets before forcing five against the Panthers.
Jose Dominguez led the charge for the Dolphins against the Valiants. His nine kills were a team best, with the freshman also adding an ace.
Tyler Hanna and
Raeden Nieves had six kills each, while
Christian Ferrer registered 24 assists.
Yestro Luciano Jr. once again dominated the net with four blocks, while Hanna and Ferrer combined for five.
The effort was apparent all game long against Purchase. The impressive freshmen hitter duo flipped, with Nieves leading the way this time around with 17 kills. Head coach
Jeremiah Huntt found success from multiple hitters, as Dominguez (12) and Hanna (11) also finished in double figures. Senior
Matthew Barrancos made his long awaited return to the court and put together a six kill, three dig, two assist effort. Ferrer this time added 40 assists to the stat sheet, while Hanna collected a pair of blocks.
The Dolphins now set their sights on Yeshiva, who they take on this Sunday.
