Purchase, NY - The University of Mount Saint Vincent fought hard but ultimately fell to Purchase College, 94-72 in a hard fought road contest in the final week of the season. The Dolphins came out with energy in the first half and kept things competitive, but it was the Panthers who pulled away to ensure the win.
Eric Woodberry put some of the finishing touches on his standout sophomore campaign, as he once again led the charge for UMSV. Woodberry poured in 17 points and adding four rebounds, four assists and two steals. Classmate Blake Salice-Mitchell, too, made an impact for the Dolphins. Salice-Mitchell had a strong showing, finishing with 16 points and pulling down five boards, while shooting an efficient seven-of-11 in the game as he continues to perform as one of the team's go to talents.
Senior Gerard Novello provided a spark with 14 points, including four made three-pointers that helped UMSV stay in the game early. Alex Chi chipped in 10 points as well while tying Woodberry for a team-best four assists.
Despite four student-athletes scoring in double figures, Purchase's first half lead was too steep to overcome.
The Dolphins will look to finish strong on Saturday when they round out their campaign on the road against Manhattanville.
