Dolphins Top Knights For First Win In 2026

Newburgh, NY - The Dolphins first road game in the new year turned into their first victory in the new year.

The University of Mount Saint Vincent hit the road on Wednesday evening to take on Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh after a tremendous effort in defeat against Yeshiva University on Sunday. The Dolphins brought the intensity with them, topping the Knights 68-57. The victory improved UMSV's overall record to 2-10 while giving the team their first win in Skyline play.

Eric Woodberry continued the trend of being the Dolphins top scorer. The sophomore upped his points per game average to 18 with a 20 point performance against the Knights. Woodberry also secured a double double with 11 boards, in addition to a pair of steals and a block.

Junior Louis Vidal was extremely efficient for his team. The Easton, Pennsylvania native went a perfect four-for-four from the floor, including two three pointers, good for 10 points. Alex Chi stuffed the stat sheet in the win, putting together a 12 point, six rebound, five assist, two steal effort, while Blake Salice-Mitchell had 12 points and eight boards of his own.

The Dolphins topped the Knights on the scoreboard nearly all night long, with Mount Saint Mary just tying the game at two different points in the first half. The team's offense exploded in the second half, shooting over 62% in the final 20 minutes of action. Woodberry did his part to push the lead to double digits, as his five points in consecutive possession in the eight minute mark brought the score to 54-40.

The Dolphins will look to keep the momentum on their side in a home matchup against Purchase College on Saturday.
