Dolphins Fall In Road Matchup Against Maritime

Throggs Neck, NY - The University of Mount Saint Vincent challenged Maritime College on Wednesday evening, pitting black and gold division teams against one another for the one and only time this season. It was the Privateers who used the home court to their advantage, defeating the Dolphins by the score of 106-82. The loss dropped UMSV to 2-16 on the year.

Eric Woodberry led the way on offense for head coach James Mooney. Woodberry led his team with an 22 points while chipping in four rebounds, two assists, two blocks and a steal. The contest against Maritime was the sophomore's fourth straight contest with 22 or more points.

Alex Chi and Joel Gado followed suit with double digit scoring performances as well. Chi provided 12 points to go along with seven boards and three assists, while Gado scored 10 points of his own on 50% shooting. He also tied Chi in rebounding with seven as well while also leading the way with four assists. Starters Blake Salice-Mitchell and Lou Vidal combined for 17 points in the effort.

The Dolphins went stride-for-stride with Maritime to start the first half. Despite falling into an early 7-0 hole, UMSV continuously chipped away. They didn't take a lead in the first half but did make it a one possession on multiple occasions, as late as 1:54 remaining in the half when Woodberry converted one of his three three point attempts.  Unfortunately for the Dolphins, Maritime upped their offensive success in the second half, one that saw the Privateers bring their lead to double figures for the remainder of the action.

The Dolphins head back home on Saturday, where they'll take on Farmingdale.
