Riverdale, NY - The University of Mount Saint Vincent had their third straight game to kick off their 2025 campaign - an for the third straight time, they walked away victorious.
The Dolphins played host to the City College of New York on Tuesday evening, and their offensive firepower and defensive force were both on display. UMSV dominated both ends of the field, en route to a 4-0 victory over the Beavers.
The Dolphins got on the board early, with First Team All-Conference selection
Javier Trujillo continuing his hot start to his sophomore campaign. The Rio Rancho, New Mexico native was on the receiving end of a strong pass from classmate
Jacob Greiffenberger and found the back of the net for the second time this season.
For the remainder of the first half, it was the defense who stood out. The unit of Greiffenberger,
Anthony Rochester,
John Brienza and a returning
Trevor Pegg kept the Beavers offense at bay, with sophomore goalkeeper
Samuel Reine turning away both shots that reached him.
The offense reached another level in the second half, as UMSV would shut out CCNY three goals to none.
Manuel Vidal buried a pair of shot attempts, bringing his season total to three goals on the year, while
Luka Gelevski scored his first of the season to ice the game.
Barry Jermaine Johnson recorded his second helper of the year on Vidal's first of the evening.
UMSV will look to keep their winning ways in tact with another home match, this time against Hunter College, this coming Saturday.
