Dolphins Dominate on the Road Against Panthers

Old Westbury, NY - After a dominant win against St. Joseph's University-Brooklyn this week, the Dolphins kept their momentum rolling, extending their winning streak to three games. In each of these victories, the Dolphins have won by 20 or more points, showcasing their dominance on both ends of the court.

Coach Maria Nardulli saw a full-team effort on Saturday, with all 23 Dolphins seeing the floor and making an impact. With 17 players adding to the scoring column and three reaching double figures, UMSV returned to Riverdale with an impressive 85-27 victory. Once again, the Dolphins set the tone defensively, holding the Panthers to just 23% shooting from the field while also holding the Panthers to single digit scoring in three of the four quarters.

Junior captain JaKaia Lotz and graduate student Erin Smith led the charge with 12 points each. Graduate Melanieann Broderick joined them in double figures with 10 points, while graduate captain Kayla Hanley orchestrated the offense with a game-high 8 assists.

Sophomore Olivia Dutzer was a spark for the Dolphins, putting up 7 points and grabbing 7 rebounds in just 11 minutes of action. Fellow sophomore Nailea Green added 8 points and 6 rebounds, while graduate transfer Ashley Marrocco finished with 5 rebounds and 4 points.

The Dolphins are looking to push their winning streak to four as they hit the road to face the United States Merchant Marine Academy on Wednesday, February 19.
