Dolphins Top Sound For First Win Of 2025

Dix Hills, NY - The Dolphins are officially in the win column.

The University of Mount Saint Vincent has taken some time to get to full strength and perform as a full unit. Despite still missing Blake Salice-Mitchell, the Dolphins were able to put together one of their best performances of the season to the tune of a victory over Five Towns College by the score of 82-72.

The 10-point victory improved the team's record to 1-6 through seven games.

Junior guard Alex Chi once again put together a strong performance, this time in his second game of the year. Chi shot 50% from the floor, en route to a 20 point performance to go along with five rebounds and two steals. Transfer junior Joel Gado dominated the paint, posting an impressive 20-point, 12-rebound double-double while also adding three assists. Sophomore Eric Woodberry was extremely efficient, knocking down five of six shot attempts, good for 12 points, six boards, a steal and an assist.

Jack Hayward (five points, four rebounds, three assists), Aidan McCahey (five points, five assists, three rebounds), Gerard Novello (six points, three assists, one rebound) and Louis Vidal (eight rebounds, seven points) all found success in the win as well.

The Dolphins shot nearly 45% from the floor for the duration of the competition. They also forced 17 Five Towns turnovers, scoring 18 points off of them.

UMSV will open Skyline Conference play on Saturday when they welcome Sarah Lawrence to Riverdale.
