Riverdale, NY - History has been made.
The University of Mount Saint Vincent earned their first ever Skyline Conference regular season championship in their win over Purchase College on Wednesday, capping off arguably the best campaign in program history. The 6-1 win over Purchase capped off an unbeaten season for first year head coach
Max Watson and the Dolphins, as they finished the year with a 13-0-2 overall record while ranking fifth in the region.
Junior midfielder Sebastian Ciurlizza recorded a hat trick in the win, giving him seven goals to cap off his junior campaign. Sophomore
William Sornin added two goals of his own while
Emil Jensen came in as the other goal scorer for UMSV.
Arav Kumar had two assists while Sornin,
Luka Gelevski,
David Marquez and
Trevor Pegg also added helpers.
The victory was all but a formality for a Dolphins team that has dominated the competition in 2025. UMSV impressed on both ends of the field, scoring over three goals per game while allowing less than one (0.93) per contest. The team has seen a number of contributors across the roster, with their depth being a strong reason behind their success.
The Dolphins have secured home field advantage throughout the conference tournament. They begin their quest to the second ever Skyline crown in team history on November 5, when they host the winner of Manhattanville Univeristy against Farmingdale State College.
