Dolphins Close Out 2024 Campaign With Dominant Win Over Golden Eagles

Patchogue, NY - The University of Mount Saint Vincent's men's lacrosse team concluded the 2024 season on Saturday in a major way, as the team dominated St. Joseph's University Long Island on the road by the score of 18-9. The Dolphins not only controlled the pace of play throughout the contest, but saw two impressive feats, both on the roster and the team as a whole. Graduate student Mustapha Daffeh left a permanent mark on the program in his lone season in Riverdale, as the Bronx native's 10 ground balls on Saturday gave him 102 on the year, the most in a single season in program history. UMSV also secured the most conference wins in a single season in program history with their win over the Golden Eagles as well.

The Dolphins wrapped up their latest season winners in six of their 15 games.

UMSV jumped out to an early lead as the ball was spread around across the offense. Three different players scored goals to kick off the contest, with Ryan Jean-Pharuns, Chai Dunlap amd Isaac Parsons accounting for the points that put their team up 3-0 just six minutes into play. The Dolphins would close out the half scoring five of the next seven goals, with Parsons recording yet another hat trick while Daffeh scored a pair of his own, in addition to another Jean-Pharuns strike.

Walker Moore spent the entire first net in half and had his best showing to date, as he turned away eight of the 10 shots that reached him.

The Golden Eagles would go on six goal tear in the fourth quarter, but UMSV already had the game in hand. Freshmen Jacob Morocho and Alfred Lamptey would shine in the second half, as the first year duo scored the first goals of their collegiate career. Dunlap, Parsons, Savion Williams, Adrian Guillermo and Giovanni Jean-Pharuns would add towards the 18-goal finish as well.

Parsons, Dunlap and Giovanni Jean-Pharuns would each record two assists in addition to their scoring totals. Jake Luxoro had a dominant game on the defensive end of the field, recording a team-high four caused turnovers to go along with seven ground balls. Guillermo would tack on five ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers to cap off his terrific senior campaign while Daffeh also won 10 of his 16 face-off attempts.
