Rodriguez, Weisberg Lead The Charge In Skyline Conference Honors

Riverdale, NY - The University of Mount Saint Vincent's women's soccer team is on a mission to repeat as Skyline Conference champions - but as they await their semifinal matchup on Wednesday, they'll celebrate individual honors for some of their standout talents.

The Skyline Conference released their 2024 awards, with UMSV featured on both the first and second team.

Senior midfielder Alicia Rodriguez wraps up her tremendous UMSV career in the only way she knows how - as a member of the Skyline Conference's First Team. Rodriguez, who was named to the first team in 2022 and 2023, led the team in both goals (10) and assists (six) this season.

Defenders Dana DeDominicis and Maddie Halford each found their place on the Conference's Second Team. It's DeDomincis' second time on an All-Conference team while it's Halford's first, as the duo made up for a tremendous back line that was among the Skyline's best. Goalkeeper Javiera Sanchez, who averaged 1.13 goals against per game average while recording five shutouts, earned a spot on the Second Teamc after leading her team to a first place finish.

First-year head coach Jason Weisberg received praise as well, as he was named the Skyline Conference's Coach of the Year by his peers. Weisberg coached the program to its first ever regular season champipnship after finishing 9-1-1 in Skyline play.

The Dolphins are set for a showdown with Sarah Lawrence College on Wednesday at home, with the contest scheduled for a 7 PM kickoff. The winner will earn a spot in the Skyline Conference championship game on Saturday.
