Old Westbury, NY - The Dolphins' winning ways rolled into their game against Old Westbury.
The University of Mount Saint Vincent's women's soccer team hit the road to Long Island to challenge the Panthers and continued their success against the Skyline. The Dolphins scored six unanswered goals over the course of the action, improving their conference record to 5-0-1 through six games.
The scoring surge was split between halves, with UMSV jumping out to a lead early. Junior
Arianna Morales was on the receiving end of a penalty kick and converted her shot attempt 13 minutes into the action, good for her first goal of the year. Junior
Jasmine Hewitt continued her scoring surge, with her strike at the 19:53 mark being good for her team-best fifth of the year. Freshman
Grace Kennedy connected on her first shot attempt of the year to extend UMSV's lead to three at the break.
The offense did let up in the second half. Freshman
Ima Kellerman would score a pair of goals within six minutes of one another, adding points to her first half assist.
Emily Legler would complete the game for the Dolphins, with her first goal of 2024 coming with less than two minutes remaining in regulation.
The Dolphins are now set for a showdown against Sarah Lawrence College, the team tied for first place with UMSV in preseason polls. The game will be kicked off this Saturday in Yonkers at 3 PM.
