Northampton, MA - The College of Mount Saint Vincent's women's volleyball team entered the weekend winners of two straight, with victories against Medgar Evers College and York College. The Dolphins were looking to carry the momentum into a weekend road trip to Massachusetts, where they took on both Smith College and Simmons University on Saturday. CMSV lost both matches, but their chemistry continued to grow ahead of Skyline Conference play.
Both senior
Elizabeth Flores and freshman
Nicole Sullivan posted impressive numbers in contest against Smith. Flores led the way with a team-high nine kills while Sullivan posted 12 assists, giving her 123 helpers through six games. Senior libero
Isabella Garcia collected 14 digs.
First year hitter
Adelina Elezaj registered four kills in game two, giving her eight across the tri-match. Classmate
Samantha Rapp had three services aces against Simmons as well.
The outcomes wasn't what the team hoped, but the progress has been apparent. With strong leadership combined with an impressive freshmen class, the sky is the limit for a team that's approaching conference competition. They'll take on CCNY at home on Thursday before facing off against Farmingdale the following week.
