Game Recap: Men's Volleyball |

Dolphins Split First Skyline Tri-Match of 2023

Riverdale, NY - The College of Mount Saint Vincent's men's volleyball team hosted their second tri-match of the 2023 season. This time around, however, the implications were higher, as the Dolphins took on Skyline Conference opponents Ramapo College and St. Joseph's University Brooklyn.

The split brought the team's conference record to 2-1 thus far.

The first game was 3-0 in favor of the Roadrunners, with the Dolphins compiling 31 total points in three sets. Senior Terence Strehle returned to his original spot as a hitter after working as the team's setter early this season, with the decision paying off. The four-year standout led the way with seven kills, with teammates James Rose and Kevin Erhand combining for nine. Senior Pat Ilardi got his first extended look at setter and stood out as he collected 16 assists. Felix Paulino furthered his fantastic final season with CMSV with 15 digs.

Head coach Matthew Johann's lineup changes were utilized once more in the second contest, which was a large reason behind the victory. Strehle was tops in the hitter column once more with a season high 12 kills, a season high. Erhand and Rose were once again right behind him with eight kills apiece. Ilardi dominated in the passing game with 35 assists while Paulino continued to climb the national leaderboards with 20 digs.

The Dolphins will look to use that win as fuel when they compete in a rematch with the Bears this coming Thursday.
