New York, NY - The College of Mount Saint Vincent's men's volleyball team continued their path towards the Skyline Conference playoffs, with their latest pit stop taking place in Manhattan. The Dolphins, who entered the game 6-5 against conference opponents, took on Yeshiva University in the final week of the regular season. CMSV walked away winners of the contest, defeating the Maccabees in four sets (25-21, 25-22, 23-25, 25-15), resulting in their seventh Skyine win in 12 tries.
Three Dolphins hitters registered 10 or more kills in the evening victory.
Terence Strehle once again topped the stats sheet for Matt Johann, with 13 kills to go along with seven digs and four service aces. Next up was Kyle Thomspon, who took home 12 in 30 swings while also adding a pair of service aces to his line.
Samuel Martinez rounded out the unit with 11 of his own, with the middle also helping block three kill attempts from Yeshiva.
Kevin Erhand and
Pat Ilardi split duties at the setter position and their stats reflected, with both seniors collecting 25 assists each. Senior
Felix Paulino continued his terrific final season in Riverdale with 16 digs while Erhand and
Olatomiwa Ibitayo added eight kills each.
The Dolphins, now all but officially confirmed to make the Skyline Conference postseason for the first time since 2018, round out the regular season next week with a pair of home games against Sarah Lawrence College and St. Joseph's University Long Island.
