Game Recap: Men's Volleyball |

Dolphins Victorious In Third Straight With Win Over Panthers

Purchase, NY - The College of Mount Saint Vincent's men's volleyball team continued their winning ways on Tuesday, emerging victorious on the road in a contest against Purchase College. The win over the Panthers put the Dolphins at 5-2 against Skyline Conference opponents, good for third place in the standings. The current win streak has put CMSV in a strong position to reach the postseason for the first time since the 2018 season.

Despite Purchase putting up strong numbers in two of the three sets (25-20, 25-13, 25-20), the win never seemed to be in doubt for a Dolphins team that is surging in the right direction.

The balanced hitting attack approach from head coach Matthew Johann continued on Thursday night. This time it was Terence Strehle who led the way in terms of kills for his team, with a game-best 12. Right behind the senior was third-year hitter Kyle Thompson, who recorded nine of his own against the Panthers.

Senior Pat Ilardi's transition to the starting lineup has continued to be a seamless one. The Garden City, New York native recorded 15 assists, bringing his season total to 158. Kevin Erhand, typically known for his hitting prowess, stepped up and added 14 of his own. Felix Paulino once again paced the Dolphins with 13 digs, while Strehle and Erhand added eight apiece.

The Dolphins hope to use their momentum in a big test on Thursday evening when they host New Jersey City University in another Skyline showdown.
