Dolphins Down Bears With Playoffs In Sight

Box Score Brooklyn, NY - The College of Mount Saint Vincent's men's basketball team was back in Brooklyn for the second time in three days, this time taking on St. Joseph's College University after defeating the Pratt Institute on Thursday evening. The Dolphins made it two straight wins when they went on to defeat the Bears 93-80.

CMSV improved to 7-5 against Skyline competition while bringing their overall record to 11-10.

In what has become a theme in recent weeks, the Dolphins impressed offensively in the first half, giving them enough to stay on top throughout the contest. The Dolphins converted 16 of their 30 first half shot attempts - good for 55% - while seeing their lead reach 14 points. Senior forward Dan Porcic was the driving force behind the team's first half success, with 17 points over the first 20 minutes of action.

The Bears upped their scoring efficiency in the second half, but the Dolphins' early success on offense was sustained throughout the contest.

Porcic finished his afternoon with 22 points with six rebounds and three assists. Joshua Cabezudo registered his fifth double-double with 20 points and 12 boards while DJ Tucker had 18 points, 11 rebounds, five assists and a block of his own.

The Dolphins are looking to continue their ascension up the rankings as playoffs near. They'll begin their final stretch on Wednesday when Farmingdale State College comes to Riverdale.
