Dix Hills, NY - The College of Mount Saint Vincent's men's basketball team saw their went toe-to-toe with Five Towns College over 40 minutes of action, but the team's failed last second attempts resulted in a 68-67 loss to the Sound. Joshua Cabezudo and
DJ Tucker scoring 17 and 14 points, respectively. The loss puts CMSV's overall record to 1-2 on the young season.

Cabezudo continued his strong start to the 2023-24 season with nine first half points to go along with three rebounds and an assist. For the second consecutive game, the second unit did its part, with senior
Gurjot Singh scoring six after knocking down two of three from beyond the arc while

Brian Rawlings each reaching the scoring column as well.
The second half mirrored the first, as the Dolphins stayed even with the Sound despite continued scoring struggles. Tucker exploded in the final half, as the senior reached double figures in 14 minutes while filling out the box score with six rebounds, four steals and a block.
Lewis and Rawlings continued their scoring touch as well, combining for 13 second half points.
The Dolphins trailed by six with just 32 seconds left in regulation, but it was at that point when
James Mooney's squad began their comeback. Wein found his way to the charity stripe and converted both attempts to make it a four point game, with Cabezudo doing the same in the following possession, bringing the score to 66-64.
After Five Towns knocked down two free throws of their own, Rawlings scored his second three pointer of the contest to make it a one point game. Both Rawlings and Tucker had chances to give their team the lead as time expired, but each attempt was thwarted by the Sound's defense.
The Dolphins will look to return to the win column at home on Saturday when they take on Whittier College.
