Box Score Jersey City, NJ - The Dolphins were back on the pitch after their season opening win, this time facing off against New Jersey City University in another non-conference tilt. The women's soccer team kept the momentum in their favor, as two second half goals propelled the ladies to their second win in as many games to start the 2022 season.
The first half featured tight back and forth action, with the Dolphins and Gothic Knights both failing to record goals. The Dolphins kept the pressure on NJCU over the first 45 minutes as they outpaced their opponents by four shots while controlling the action.
It didn't take long for CMSV to get on the boars after their impressive first half. Reigning first team All-Skyline standout
Emily McCarthy put her team in the scoring column just 11 minutes into the second half when she scored from the top of the box for her second goal in as many games. Just three minutes later, it was sophomore
Alicia Rodriguez's turn, as her attempt from McCarthy flew past the Gothic Knights' goalkeeper to make it a 2-0 game, good enough for the win.
Both McCarthy and Rodriguez have two goals apiece in the first two games for the Dolphins, with McCarthy also tallying the assist. Sophomore
Brooke Frierson pitched a 90 minute shutout in net, turning away the only shot she saw. Rodriguez led the way with six shots while McCarthy,
Amanda Cotroneo,
