Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Dolphins Dominate Panthers En Route To Second Conference Win

Purchase, NY - The College of Mount Saint Vincent's women's soccer team's offense flexed their muscles all game long on Wednesday evening, pouring in seven goals, resulting in a shutout victory over Purchase College. The win gave the Dolphins their second Skyline win of 2022, with seven goals being the most scored in a game this season.

It was an outright dominant performance from Stuart Dick's offense, and it started in the early goings of the first half. Over the course of a nine minute span, the Dolphins scored three goals, all but putting the game out of reach by the 22nd minute of play. Reigning All-Conference member Alicia Rodriguez got things started for CMSV when she took a long pass from Naomi Juvera, drove to the net and beat the Purchase goalie one on one. Just four minutes later, sophomore Gabriela Del Castillo put a header into the net off the foot of Emily McCarthy, good for her first career collegiate goal. Freshman Victoria Gamarra continued the strong start to her CMSV career when she scored the third goal of the game off a corner kick from sophomore Amanda Cotroneo

Senior Lilli Marin capped off the first half when she took a through ball from Cotroneo and freshman Emily Topefer to bring the score to 4-0 going into halftime.

The Dolphins were far from done. McCarthy scored her team-high fourth goal in the early goings of the second half, while freshman Emily Brownell scored the first goal of her career while also giving Cotroneo her third helper of the evening. Marin once again put the cherry on top for the Dolphins, with her secord score of the game making it 7-0.

The Dolphins will look to keep their momentum going as they head back to Purchase to take on Manhattanville College of Saturday morning.
