Delhi, NY - The College of Mount Saint Vincent's women's volleyball team picked up their second win of the season on Sunday when they split a tri-match with SUNY Delhi and The King's College. After dropping the first game to the Broncos in straight sets, the Dolphins went the distance with the Lions, taking set five 15-11 to capture the win.
CMSV is now 2-4 through six games thus far.
Despite struggling against SUNY Delhi, the Dolphins continued to see growth across their roster. Sophomore
Lydia Aryee continues to impress at her new position, with the Yorktown Heights, New York native collecting 10 assists across three sets. Junior
Isabella Garcia stood out in her Libero role with 14 digs while hitters
Elizabeth Flores and
Melanieann Broderick combined for 12 kills, with six each being team highs.
CMSV and King's College traded sets, with multiple players once again standing out for Matt Johann's squad. First up was Broderick, who posted a team-high 14 kills to go along with 15 digs. Flores was all over the stat sheet with nine kills to go along with six service aces and 25 digs, both bests for her team. Aryee put together another strong outing with 15 assists and three service aces while
Katelynn Fanjul protected the middle of the court with two blocks.
The Dolphins will next welcome USMMA to town in a rematch of the 2021 Skyline Conference semifinals. The matchup is set to take place this coming Tuesday at the Sharp Center.
