Game Recap: Women's Volleyball |

Dolphins Compete In MSMC Tri-Match Against Knights, John Jay

Newburgh, NY - The College of Mount Saint Vincent's women's volleyball team competed in their first tri-match of the season, taking on Skyline Conference rival Mount Saint Mary College and John Jay College in Newburgh on Saturday. The Dolphins dropped both games but continue to grow as a team due to a new coaching staff and overhauled roster.

CMSV is now 1-3 overall thus far with a .500 record against the Skyline.

The Dolphins first competed against Mount Saint Mary in a rematch of the first round of the Skyline Conference playoffs a season ago. Despite the loss, the Dolphins took home the third set by nine points, with junior Elizabeth Flores leading the way with three kills out of 25 points. Flores impressed throughout the contest, totaling 16 kills while adding 10 digs. Sophomore Lydia Aryee continued to shine in her new role as a setter, as she added 28 assists to the stat line. Isabella Garcia led the way with four aces and 11 digs while Melanieann Broderick and Charlotte Martin combined for nine kills.

Although the Dolphins dropped straight sets to the Bloodhounds, there was still success on the court. Flores once again led the way with eight kills, with Broderick looking strong with six kills and five aces. Aryee continued her strong day with 16 assists, with Garcia collecting 15 digs.

CMSV now turns their attention to familiar foe USMMA, who they'll welcome to the Sharp Center on Tuesday.
