Yonkers, NY - The College of Mount Saint Vincent's women's soccer team was looking to pick up their second conference win of 2022 when they took a short trip to Yonkers to face off against Sarah Lawrence College. The Dolphins were looking to find the same magic from a season ago when they defeated the Gyrphons at the buzzer in double overtime. Unfortuntately for CMSV, Sarah Lawrence got the better of the matchup, as they walked away with the two-goal victory.
The Gryphons defense did a tremendous job on a Dolphins offense that has impressed at times this season. The unit allowed just one shot on goal in the 90 minutes of action, which came off the foot of sophomore standout
Alicia Rodriguez. Sarah Lawrence stepped up on offense as well, with the team outshooting the Dolphins 10-1 throughout the afternoon. The Gryphons scored a goal in each half, puttng the game in their favor for good.
Sophomore
Brooke Frierson spent all 90 minutes in net today and made three saves.
The Dolphins will look to get back on track this coming Wednesday when they play on the road under the lights against Purchase College.
