Newburgh, NY- The CMSV men's lacrosse team took to the field for more Skyline Conference action as they traveled to Kaplan Field, home of the Mount Saint Mary's College Knights. The Dolphins competed, but fell to the Knights 19-4.
The Dolphins looked to get back into the win column in today's matchup, but were ultimately outlasted as they spotted the Knights 10 goals in the first half without an offensive response.Â
The Dolphins made adjustments for the second half as CMSV had a huge third quarter- scoring three goals in under five minutes. Sophomore Joseph Santana started the second half by scoring an assisted goal from classmate Giovanni Jean-Pharuns and would later put another goal in for the Dolphins, this time assisted by Senior Patrick Nagy.Â
Nagy would continue the fight as he scored another goal to end the third quarter run for the Dolphins. CMSV would still trail 11-3, but seemingly having momentum, but an 8-0 run for the Knights would doom all hopes for a late comeback.Â
Jean-Pharuns would score the final goal of the game with eight seconds left, but that would be all for the Dolphins as they now drop to 1-2 in conference play.Â
CMSV takes the field again Tuesday, as they head to Patchogue, NY to face off against the Golden Eagles of Saint Joseph's College- Long Island.Â
