Game Recap: Men's Volleyball |

Dolphins Drop Close Contest To Macs, 2-3

New York, NY - The CMSV men's volleyball team took the court again Tuesday, coming off of their win from this past weekend as they took on the Maccabees of Yeshiva. The Dolphins fell to the Maccabees in five sets, 2-3.

The Dolphins were hot coming out the gate, taking two straight sets against the Macs. Sophomore Kyle Thompson and junior Kevin Erhand were huge in the Dolphins' early success as they tallied 16 combined kills in the first two sets.

Junior Terence Strehle was also a major factor in CMSV's early lead as he recorded five kills.

The Dolphins kept the game close in the third set, but a 9-0 run by the Maccabees would be too much to overcome for CMSV. The same would go for the fourth set, as the Dolphins battled with Yeshiva and would tie the game at 20, but ultimately, the Dolphins dropped the fourth set as well.

The trend of the game continued through set five as the game was close to the very end. The Dolphins erased a 13-8 deficit with a 5-1 run to make the score 14-13, but the Dolphins' surge wasn't enough to bring home the victory.

Thompson ended the day with team highs in kills (22) and digs (16). Erhand recorded 12 kills and 10 digs and freshman Shane Stein finished with eight kills. Senior Miguel Losa recorded 24 assists on the day while Strehle finished with 20.

The Dolphins will look to bounce back quickly as they take on Purchase College Thursday night.
