Game Recap: Women's Volleyball |

Women's Volleyball Dominates On Senior Night

Riverdale, NY - The College of Mount Saint Vincent's women's volleyball team honored five seniors in a pregame ceremony before taking on Yeshiva University in the final Skyline Conference matchup in 2022. After the team honored Brianna Ayuso, Charlotte Martin, Liana Cabeza, Ashley Teal and Kira Villegas, the Dolphins impressed on their home court, defeating the Maccabees in straight sets to win their third conference game of the year.

Yeshiva didn't stand much of a chance against CMSV on Thursday evening, as the Dolphins won 25-11, 25-13, and 25-22. Head coach Matthew Johann rotated new faces into the game, with the entire roster impressing in the game.

The team's top players had their collective presence felt. Melanieann Broderick had 11 kills for the Dolphins; not only was that a team-high in the game, but it also gives her a CMSV-best 179 on the season. The sophomore hitter also had 15 digs and four service aces. Elizabeth Flores was right up there in the stats as well with seven kills and 10 digs. Martin, who played in her final game on the Peter Jay Sharp Center floor, had a game-best 23 assists, as she did a tremendous job setting up her teammates.

The bench unit was equally as important to the victory. Kaitlyn Arroyo played in the most minutes in her young career and produced with five digs, two service aces and a kill, while Denise Castillo had a dig and two assists at the libero position. Katherine Torres added a pair of kills in the final set while Teal had three of her own.

The Dolphins wrap up the 2022 campaign this coming weekend in a road tri-match against the University of Southern Maine and Western Connecticut State.
