Madison, NJ - After two contests on the Peter Jay Sharp Center floor, CMSV's women's volleyball team was back on the road, participating in yet another non-conference tri-match, this time against Drew University and Wilkes University. The Dolphins returned to the bus with two losses, bringing their overall record to 4-4 through the first two weeks of the season.
Drew proved to be too much for the Dolphins, winning in straight sets by the scores of 25-17, 25-17 and 25-14. Senior captains
Rianna Rivera and
Madison Gale impressed, with Rivera recording four kills and an ace while Gale added four kills of her own to go along with 11 assists. Sophomore
Elizabeth Flores added four kills of her own, while senior
Dez Brown secured two blocks while junior
Brianna Ayuso collected six assists as well.
Despite defeating Wilkes earlier this season 3-0, the Dolphins fell this time around in four sets. Rivera was once again the standout, tied for a team-high in kills with 12. Gale, too, did her part, with an impressive 33 assists.
Lindsay DeBoer also recorded 12 kills in the game, with Flores also finishing in double figures (11). Rivera also tied Brown with four blocks apiece while senior
Olivia Kane had 14 digs.
