Dolphins Honors Seniors On Final Game Of 2021

Riverdale, NY - The CMSV men's lacrosse team returned home to Marillac Field one last time for the final game of the season to face off against the Privateers of Maritime for senior day on Saturday afternoon. The Dolphins honored the defensemen trio of Pat Gazillo, Nick DiStefano, and Frank Stefko and midfielder Nana Kofi-Agyekum with the presence of CMSV President Dr. Susan Burns and Director of Athletics Phil Stern. The day was great for celebration, but the Dolphins fell to the Skyline's top ranked team, 16-2.

Kofi-Agyekum was a bright spot for the Dolphins in this matchup as he scored both goals for CMSV while also recording five ground balls in the match. The defensive lineup of Gazillo, DiStefano and Stefko also shined as they held the number one seed to the lowest amount of goals allowed this season.

Although the Dolphins had a rough season this year, next year looks promising for this young Dolphin squad. With the presence of a young core, the seniors leave the lacrosse program in good hands for the next few years.

"It's nothing but bittersweet feelings passing the team on," DiStefano said. "We have a really special group of guys here that have the potential to do really great things. They're in great hands going into next year, my co-captain Pat is a great experienced leader. The culture of the team is changing for the better and I can't wait to see what the future holds for us."
