Box Score Throgs Neck, NY - The women's basketball team returned to action for the first time in nearly a week on Sunday when they traveled to Throgs Neck and took on Yeshiva University in Skyline Conference action. Despite a closely contested first half, the Dolphins were able to pull away in the final quarter, winning by the score of 77-58. CMSV is now 4-0 to start the 2021-22 season, including 2-0 against conference foes.
The Dolphins started off strong, outscoring the Maccabees 21-11 in the first quarter while shooting 42% from the floor. Yeshiva, however, flipped the switch in the final 10 minutes before halftime, putting up 20 points of their own, resulting in a two point CMSV lead heading into the locker rooms.
From there, it was all Dolphins. The visitors combined for an impressive 43 points while causing the Maccabees to turn the ball over 17 times over the final 20 minutes of play.
Victoria Hanley continued her strong start to her season, as the Yonkers, New York native paced all scorers with 25 points, including knocking down two of three from three and converting five of six free throw attempts. The senior also added eight rebounds, four assists and four steals.

Dez Brown had her breakout performance in the early portion of this season, scoring a season-high 22 points with a downright dominant 85% field goal percentage to go along with four rebounds, four steals and two blocks.
Kira Villegas added 10 points and five rebounds of her own while
Amber Been led her squad with eight assists.
The Dolphins will have a quick turnaround when they travel to Newburgh for some more conference action against Mount Saint Mary College. The matchup is scheduled for this coming Tuesday.
