New York, NY - The College of Mount Saint Vincent's men's basketball team was in action on Saturday afternoon, but not in a typical matchup. The Dolphins were pitted against Division I Columbia University in an exhibition game to see how the they stack up against superior competition. CMSV battled valiantly throughout the 40 minutes of play but ultimately lost by the score of 87-62.
In what has become a theme early on this season, junior transfer
Dan Porcic led all Dolphins in scoring with 14 points. The Putnam, Connecticut native shot 33% from beyond the arc while also adding three rebounds to the stat sheet. Senior
Kelvin Turner-Harris also finished in double figures as he went two of three from deep, good for 10 points.
Shakirro Samuels was all over the court for the Dolphins, as his six rebounds and two steals both paced the team. Senior
Kalos Evans completed his afternoon with another filled stat sheet (nine points, four rebounds, two steals and an assist). As a whole, the Dolphins's bench outscored Columbia's bench by 10 points while also recording more blocks.
The next game on the schedule for the Dolphins will be another exhibition, as they travel to Massachusettes to take on Holy Cross.
