Dolphins Cruise To First Conference Win, Remain Undefeated

Box Score Riverdale, NY - The Dolphins, after emerging victorious in their first two games of the 2021-22 season, were looking to keep their momentum in the right direction as they started Skyline play on Tuesday night. The ladies did just that, defeating Farmingdale State College on the Peter Jay Sharp Center floor by double digits, improving the team's record to 3-0 through as many games.

The Dolphins maintained the lead throughout the entirety of the contest, including seeing their lead balloon to 20 points at the tail end of the second quarter. CMSV also forced 24 first half turnovers while also scoring 26 points in the paint.

The second half, specifically the fourth quarter, the Rams gained momentum. But a combination of defense and fast break points kept the Dolphins on top, resulting in the victory.

Junior Victoria Hanley once again paced all scorers with 15 points, including knocking down all four shots from the charity stripe. She also added seven rebounds, five assists and five steals in over 38 minutes of play. Junior Kira Villegas registered her first double-double of the season with 11 points and a team-high 10 board while Amber Been had 12 points and seven steals. Senior captain Dez Brown impressed with a 12-point, six rebound performance.

The Dolphins will now turn their attention to Yeshiva University, who they'll take on this coming Sunday. Watch live on CMSVAthletics.com as the women's basketball team looks to make it four straight wins to open the year.
