Purchase, NY - After struggling in their last two conference matchups, the Dolphins returned to their winning ways against Skyline rivals when they defeated Purchase College in straight sets on Wednesday night. Now 9-7 on the year, the women's volleyball program will look to keep up their current play over the final stretch of the 2021 season/.
The Dolphins impressed as a whole, allowing Purchase to score just 39 points over the course of the game. CMSV outplayed the Panthers in nearly every facet of the game, including kills, aces, blocks, assists and digs, among other categories.
Senior captain
Rianna Rivera had a dominant performance on the road, leading the team in kills (11) and blocks (three) while also adding two aces to her stat line. After last night's performance, Rivera leads the Skyline Conference with a .423 hitting percentage. Sophomore
Elizabeth Flores continued her strong first season in Riverdale, collecting nine kills of her own.
Madison Gale and
Brianna Ayuso were tremendous in setting up their teammates, combining for 27 assists. Senior
Samantha Schroeder impressed with five kills and five aces, while both Gale and
Olivia Kane had 14 digs apiece.
