Danbury, CT - The women's volleyball team struggled in a non-conference road tri-match this past Saturday, losing to both Western Connecticut State University and Plymouth State University in Connecticut. Despite the losses, the Dolphins will use the games as a tuneup for their upcoming Skyline showdowns.
There were strong individual performances in the straight sets loss to West Conn. Senior hitter
Samantha Schroeder was especially impressive on the offensive end, as she tallied 17 kills.
Madison Gale recorded 19 assists and two aces in the contest, while
Dez Brown and
Melanieann Broderick combined for 11 kills.
Isabella Garcia paced the Dolphins with 13 digs.
CMSV was able to take a set from Plymouth before ultimately taking the loss. Schroeder was once again dominant, recording 10 kills while captain
Rianna Rivera added eight kills of her own.
Elizabeth Flores converted seven kills herself while
Olivia Kane secured 19 digs. Gale once again dominated the assist category with a team-high 28.
The Dolphins will now gear up for a road trip to Long Island as they gear up to play St. Joseph's College. Stay tuned to the athletics site for all the action.
