Meet The 2020 SAAC E-Board

Riverdale, NY - The College of Mount Saint Vincent's Student Athlete Advisory Committee is under new leadership this coming academic year.

Luciano Cirelli, a rising senior and captain of the men's soccer team will take the reigns from Jake Cala as the President of SAAC. His team will be made up of women's soccer's Alyssa Santeramo (Vice President), women's volleyball's Gabriella Maggi (VP, Marketing) and Rianna Rivera (secretary) and baseball's Matt DiNorcia (Sergeant in Arms) and Pasquale Coretto (Treasure).

"Ever since I was a shadow my freshman year I knew by senior year I could be President," said Cirelli. "It truly is an honor to be able to leave a foundation for future athletes at the Mount."

"I am really honored to be the VP of SAAC," Santeramo stated. Since freshman year, I wanted to be on the E-Board and be a bigger voice to student athletes. I cant wait to get back onto campus and hit the ground running."

The mission of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee at CMSV is to develop young student-athletes into leaders, and to enhance the total student-athlete experience on and off the field or court. This is done by promoting various opportunities for everyone in the student body; protecting student-athlete welfare; and fostering a positive student-athlete image, while maintaining the Division III philosophy. CMSV is dedicated to the academic and athletic achievement of all student-athletes and adheres to all NCAA Division III Legislation.

Among the goals that Cirelli and his team plan to accomplish over the next year are to communicate thoughts, opinions and perspectives of student-athlete's to administrators, support the needs of student-athletes and their programs on campus and to promote school spirit and the athletics department on campus and throughout the CMSV community.

Cirelli echoed the sentiments of past Presidents when discussing his goals for SAAC.

"Firstly, I want to be the voice and ears for all student athletes I would like to be a role model for underclassman as well as my peers and make sure there is unity throughout all sport teams. We are all one big Phamily."

SAAC also plans on providing help and guidance not only to students on campus, but the surrounding communities as well. Over the last number of years, the group is known for its community service efforts across the tri-state area. That tradition has been a part of SAAC since the start and will continue for years to come.

"I want to leave SAAC better than it is now," Cirelli said on how he wants to leave SAAC when he has completed his role. "I want to set the bar high for future E-boards to top, and I know with the E-Board I have alongside me we are going to do great things this year for the athletic department. I think collectively as an E-Board we all have the same goals and that we want to have an amazing year. I don't want to give too much away but we are excited and can't wait to show everyone what we have planned."
