Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Dolphins Secure First Win Of 2020 Over Wilkes

Wilkes-Barre, PA- The College of Mount Saint Vincent Women's Lacrosse team took the field on Tuesday evening looking to bounce back from a tough loss this weekend. The Dolphins did just that, avenging their loss from a year ago against Wilkes University with a 13-7 victory.

The Dolphins did not get off to start they were hoping to as they fell behind the Colonels 5-2, 10 minutes into the contest. The Dolphins would catch fire after this point and put on an impressive show, going on an 8-1 run heading into halftime to take a 10-6 lead. Over this run, seven different Dolphins would find the back of the net which really showing off the depth CMSV brings to the table this season. Leading this run was freshman Colleen MacNeil, who was all over the field and contributing in every facet of the game. MacNeil would finish with two goals, one assist, six ground balls and five draw controls.

The second half was a much slower paced game that only saw four goals scored, three of which were for the Dolphins. All three of the second half goals were scored by Emma Dell'Aquila, who would end the day with five for the Dolphins. On the defensive end it was Grace Barry, Valerie Mosquera and Allyson Weakliem getting it done. Weakliem would finish the day with eight saves.

The women will have four days before they are back in action against Centenary College this Saturday in New Jersey. CMSV now sits at an overall record of 1-1.
