Union, NJ – The College of Mount Saint Vincent's women's lacrosse team opened their 2020 season on the road in New Jersey, taking on the strong Kean University Cougars. The Dolphins dropped the contest by 10 but saw a number of positive signs from all over their roster.
Freshman
Colleen MacNeil started her collegiate career in dominant fashion. The Mahopac, New York native scored five of the team's six goals, five of which came unassisted. She received help on her final goal from junior standout
Emma Dell'Aquila, who picked up an assist. The Dolphins' other goal came from MacNeil's classmate
Marisa Misuraca, who scored at the 14 minute mark off a pass from
Ashley Teal.
Dell'Aquila paced her ground balls while
Kaitlyn Cronin led the way in caused turnovers. Goaltender
Allyson Weakliem recorded five saves throughout the afternoon affair.
The Dolphins will now turn their attention to Wilkes University. They'll travel to Pennsylvania on Tuesday, with the game scheduled to start at 4:00 PM.
