Bronxville, NY - The College of Mount Saint Vincent's women's basketball team went on a short road trip on Saturday afternoon when they traveled to Bronxville to take on Sarah Lawrence College. The Dolphins entered play looking for their first conference victory in their last three games.
From the first quarter on, the game was all CMSV. The Dolphins outscored the Gryphons in all four quarters, including a 21-5 edge in the third quarter that was the best of the afternoon. As a whole, the Dolphins shot an impressive 53% from the floor including 40% from the three point line. Their defense, too, was dominant, as CMSV forced 17 turnovers while allowing the Gryphons to convert on just 12 of their 54 shot attempts.
For the Dolphins, it was junior Gabriela Goldman who led the way with 12 points, which included shooting a dominant 80% from downtown. Classmate Aria Rheams had an impressive game with 11 points and eight boards. So did transfer Nahriel Gelly, who had a season-high seven points and 10 rebounds. Leah Pinili and Catherine Amodio both paced their team with four assists apiece. Pinili also had a team-high four steals.
The Dolphins will now set their sights on Manhattanville College, who they lost to by seven earlier this season at their place. The game is scheduled for January 22 with a 6:00 PM tip-off.
