Game Recap: Women's Volleyball |

Dolphins Remain Undefeated Take Down William Patterson

Wayne, NJ – The Women's Volleyball team was back in action after having a week off after their win on September 3rd against Rutgers Newark. The Dolphins were looking to continue their early season dominance and move to 3-0 on the season. After four sets the Dolphins did just that walking away with the 3-1 victory. (25-22, 25-19, 19-25, 25-22)

The Dolphins would be tested in each and every set on Tuesday evening, but the team would show their mental toughness as they held on tight and got it done when it mattered. The Opening set was a back and forth affair that resulted in the Dolphins pulling it out in the end. This would be the theme set in and set out. After winning the first two sets the Pioneers would not go down without a fight as they stole the third set and kept their hopes alive. CMSV would lock in during the fourth and final set as they jumped out to 10-1 lead, the Pioneers would not go away though and would fight to the very last point. CMSV would have to hold on tight as their lead shrunk to just two at 24-22. Despite the scare CMSV would put away the final point and improve to 3-0. CMSV got contributions from all over their roster. On the offensive end Samantha Schroeder, Tara Maloney and Dez Brown all had big days with 15,11 and 9 kills respectively. On the defensive end Alexandra Rio and Madison Gale led the way with 16 and 13 Digs, Maloney would chip in ten digs of her own which got her to a double-double for the match.

CMSV will be right back in action tomorrow evening as they take on Montclair State at 7PM at The Peter Jay Sharp Center. Not only will the Dolphins be playing their home opener tomorrow they will be having their ring ceremony to honor their Skyline Championship a year ago. Tomorrow is going to be a night you do not want to miss. Get to Peter Jay and support!
