In game number one CMSV battled with Purchase for each of the three sets. In the opening game the Dolphins were led by
Jose Estrella and
Brendan Ryan as they have been all year long. Estrella registered eight kills, two blocks and eleven digs. While counterpart Ryan had himself a nice afternoon as well with three kills, one block and nine digs. The Dolphins would fall in straight sets 25-19, 25-13 and 25-19.
In the second game of the day CMSV was looking to end their season on a high note. That is just what they did as they battled through out. The first set was a back and forth affair that saw Yeshiva pull away late to win the set 25-20. In the second set the energy of the Dolphins was at an all-time high. Estrella continued his dominating performance on the day and his teammates rose to the occasion. The Dolphins jumped out to a 11-8 lead. Yeshiva would eventually tie things at 13 and the fans were in for another good one. The teams would go back and forth from here on with multiple ties and lead changes. With the tie knotted at 22 it was time for Estrella to take over and that is just what he did registering a kill and then back to back blocks to give CMSV the set victory 25-22. The Dolphins energy would carry over into the third set as they jumped out to a 10-5 lead. The Dolphins would never look back as they cruised to a 25-15 set victory. The Dolphins were now just one set away from ending the season on a high note. That is just what they did as Estrella continued to put on for his team and lead them to a 27-25 fourth set thrilling victory. Estrella finished the game with a monster 22 kills and 10 blocks.
For now, the Men's Volleyball team will head into the off-season with their heads held high. The Dolphins will use this to build and come back even stronger next season. The Men finished with an overall record of 3-18 and a Skyline Conference record of 1-9.
