Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

Nagy and Brody Shine In Season Finale Loss

Riverdale, NY - The men's lacrosse team took the field for the final team this 2019 season, looking to upset conference foe Farmingdale. After a long day CMSV fell short 19-6. Despite the loss, the day was one to remember: freshman Patrick Nagy continued his impressive rookie campaign, breaking the single season points record (63) and Christian Brody shined in the last game, making 21 saves. These saves would push the junior to over 600 saves on his career and 300 for the season.

The Rams came out swinging on Saturday afternoon, scoring the first six goals of the afternoon. Nagy would stop the run as he slashed through the Rams' zone to get CMSV on the board. Farmingdale would go on to register the next five goals of the game. But the Dolphins would battle back, as Nagy would score the first goal of the run off a feed from Jarrett McLean, with the next two showcasing Nagy as a distributor. The first time he found Anthony Pedetalla, who buried a shot from 12 yards out to cut the lead to 11-3. Then Nagy would return the favor to a cutting McLean who would rip one high to cut the lead to seven.

11-4 was as close as the Dolphins would get on the afternoon as the Rams came out and scored the first six goals of the second half to take a 17-4 lead. Jaiden Martinez would stop the run off a feed from Matthew Pincus, with the Dolphins heading into the fourth trailing 17-5. The fourth quarter was a much lower scoring affair, as the Rams only netted two, with the Dolphins finding the back of the net just once. This one time would be Nagy's record breaker as he scored to push his point total to 63, which will now hold the top spot for points in a season for CMSV.

The Dolphins season has now come to an end with an overall record of 3-12. Despite the record, this Dolphins team has a wealth of young talent and will be back hungry for success next season.
