Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

Dolphins Top Falcons In Impressive Fashion

Riverdale, NY - The College of Mount Saint Vincent's men's lacrosse team shifted away from conference competition on Tuesday afternoon when they played host to Albertus Magnus College. The Dolphins were ready to play as they defeated the Falcons by the score of 17-5 while simultaneously winning their first game in program history on Marillac Field.

The team got off to an impressive start, as they led by five goals at the conclusion of the first quarter. Freshman standout Patrick Nagy started things off with a goal in the first minute off a pass from Jarret McLean and netted a hat trick at the three minute mark. First year counterpart Matthew Pincus both ended the first quarter with a goal and started the second quarter with another one, with Nagy and Jaiden Martinez registering assists. Like Nagy, Pincus picked up a hat trick when he scored with 9:27 left to play to extend the Dolphins' lead by six. But the scoring wasn't done there, as Pincus and junior Neil McGovern scored two more goals, giving CMSV an 8-2 edge going into halftime.

The offensive outpouring continued over the final 30 minutes of play. Martinez and Pincus added a goal each to their stat sheet while Nagy, McGovern and Anthony Pedatella poured in two apiece to complete the victory. The fantasitc freshman duo of Nagy and Pincus finished the game with a combined 11 goals and eight assists. Martinez led the way with seven ground balls while Kyle McGovern had a strong day on the defensive end with four caused turnovers and three ground balls. Junior goaltender Christian Brody had another impressive day in net, adding 15 saves to his season numbers.

The Dolphins will look to continue their winning ways when they travel to Purchase College to take on the Panthers in a Skyline Conference matchup on Thursday.
